Grand Canyon and Back to civilization!

Another couple days without real technology, but we are on the road again!  We have finally seen the most beautiful natural wonder in the world.... Well, some of it! It's huge!!  Once we left Colorado, we drove for hours and hours through an Navajo Indian reservation, saw the 4 corners monument and stepped in 4 different states in seconds. Then we high tailed it through the night to the Grand Canyon. We made it there around 1130, found some camping and hit the hay. We woke up to the most amazing sunrise and views that took our breath away!
Out first time in the desert! It's a little hot!

Four Corners!!

Navajo sunset!

Sunrise in the Grand Canyon!

Yep... It's amazing!!

It's a little scary! But beautiful... I had to hold Molly arm like crazy! (She may have bruises!)

Cool huh?!

Molly is still Molly!

And so is Ray!

During a really hot hike along the rim of the canyon.

Managed to get some sweaty kids to smile!

Now the sunset!

Ok, so this is a hike we took Monday that went down a small bit into the canyon.  It was the south Kaibab trail. The girls and I and 3 O'Sheas hung back after we got down 6 switchbacks on the very hot trail. Nolan, John, Kristin, Liam and Ray kept going. There was a point when we thought we might need to send a search party but 5 very tired and very hot people made it back like an hour and a half later. I couldn't believe they did it and made it back alive and it was only a 1.9 mile trip down, then up... I could NEVER have made it back. It was very courageous an a little bit insane!

It's Tuesday and On our way to Vegas, we stopped in Kingman, Arizona. We found our first Route 66 joint...lots of pricey fried foods but definitely worth the visit.

So now we are headed to the Hoover dam and Vegas... We will post some pictures of the lights! (Never been here... May need to get that tattoo!)
